Congratulations to the latest #ShareYourShutters winner: Chelsey Rushworth! Her winning submission to #ShareYourShutters features two rooms in her home decked out with stylish new Polywood interior plantation shutters that beautifully accentuate both her home’s style and her own personal fashion sense.

 

Chelsey, who goes by Taste of Coffey on Instagram, is a Boston-based home designer with an eye for color in her home design. A quick look at her photos shows how she intersperses whites, off-whites, and muted shades for a look that’s welcoming and comfortable, but with an undeniable sense of flair.

Chelsey even has some advice for homeowners in Virginia Beach and beyond:

• Always have a color scheme in mind. When you decorate a room, you’re always able to adjust colors to accessorize it. Be sure to utilize colors from either your home’s color pallet or ones that can complement it.

• Be fluid in your color usage. I chose white shutters and most of my furniture is gray, both weathered wood and fabric. So I chose to add in splashes of white and color accents.

Not only does Chelsey have a great eye for color, but her use of space in her home is just as good. From her chairs that lead the eyes vertically to the wall and her plantation shutters, to her choice of shelving under the casement window, Chelsey’s house is stylish, practical, and extremely livable without ever seeming overwhelming.
